1. No Data Collection

We believe in privacy by design. Mercury Clipboard does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your personal data. We do not have servers that store your clipboard history. All operations are performed locally on your device.

2. Local Data Storage

The extension uses your browser's local storage capabilities (chrome.storage.local) to function effectively.

• Clipboard History: The text you copy is stored temporarily on your device so that you can paste it later using the extension's interface.
• Settings: Your preferences (such as theme or shortcut settings) are stored locally.

If you use the "Ghost Mode" feature (if available), data is stored only in your computer's RAM (Random Access Memory) and is permanently erased when you close the browser.

3. Permissions Usage

Mercury Clipboard requires specific permissions to function. Here is how we use them:

• Clipboard Read: Used solely to detect when you copy text (Ctrl+C / Cmd+C) to add it to your local history manager.
• Clipboard Write: Used solely to paste the item you selected from the Mercury overlay into the active input field.
• Host Permissions (All URLs): Required to display the Mercury overlay (UI) on top of any website you are visiting, allowing you to paste content anywhere.

4. Third-Party Services

Since we do not collect data, we do not share any data with third-party services, advertisers, or analytics providers.

5. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Your continued use of the extension after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications.
